What is the difference between the Wii Remote and wireless controller?

I am looking to buy a packaged deal for either the two controllers, or the entire wii console with the two controllers.... anyhow not sure which way it will be cheapest to purchase, but seeing this wireless remote, and I'm not sure what that is.What is the difference between the Wii Remote and wireless controller?
a Wii Remote *is* a wireless controller. unless it very specifically says ';wireless CLASSIC controller'; or ';wireless GAMECUBE controller';, it almost certainly means a normal Wii remote (or wiimote for short)What is the difference between the Wii Remote and wireless controller?
Since you are just getting started with the Wii you might want to check out http://www.musictomyears.com/iluvmywii.h鈥?/a> as it is a great beginners guide to the Wii with descriptions of the different controllers, games %26amp; accessories.

What's great about the Wii is that you can just get started with the Wii console %26amp; Wii Remote %26amp; Nunchuk. As you play more %26amp; more with the Wii you will probably want to explore other games %26amp; accessories (there are a lot of options %26amp; that website I mentioned has lots of information about them).

If you are going to purchase Wii Nunchuks (if you are right handed you hold the Wii Remote in your right hand %26amp; the Nunchuk in your left hand to place certain games such as Wii Ski or boxing games, etc) you might want to consider purchasing a wireless Wii Nunchuk as the normal Wii Nunchuk attaches to the Wii Remote with a wire %26amp; when you are doing a very physical game such as skiing or cheerleading you might smack yourself with the wire.

Have fun!
The wireless remote was made by Nintendo for motion sensing. It's a remote because the Wii has ';Channels'; and this is the best design they could come up with to do different things. For example, you can swing it like a bat and you can turn it like a steering wheel. You can buy a Classic Controller or Gamecube controller, if you do not like the Wii Remote, as these are compatible with most games.
I may be wrong on this but the Wii Remote is the remote like device that all Wiis come with. The one with the motion sensor in it.

The wireless controller maybe the one that looks like a classic controller like what the Xbox 360 %26amp; PlayStation 3 use.
the Wii comes with wireless remotes. thats how its made.
