What controller do you need to play gamecube games on wii?

I got a wii system. I also got a Classic Controler. I just got a gamecube game and the right kind of Memory Card. But when i first start playing the game. (using the classic controller)


It dosn't work. And my wii remote turns off. What kind of controller or what exactly do I need to play gamecube games with a wii and where do I put it in? PLEASE HELP I REALLY NEED A ANSWER!!! thanks!What controller do you need to play gamecube games on wii?

Yo need to have the gamecube game disk any disk work on it and have the gamecube controller its like a little gamecube built in the wii.And the classic controller is for classic game on the wii shop channel.You ca plug in the game cube controller onto the top of the Wii.
You need the Gamecube controller, just plug in on top, there are 2 panels that can open up on top of the Wii system, 1 for gamecube controllers and the other for the gamecube memory cards, the panels open up from the right top edge of the system.
